Subby vs ReSubs
Both track subscriptions by hand on iPhone and Android, and neither touches your bank. The difference is the bill. ReSubs sells Premium as weekly, monthly and yearly plans on its App Store listing, while Subby’s PRO is a single one-time purchase.
The short version
Subby vs ReSubs is a narrow comparison. The two apps do the same job the same way: you add each subscription yourself, the app warns you before the next charge lands, and neither one asks for a bank login. That cuts both ways, because an app that never sees your statement can never find the one you forgot. So the only thing left to compare is how often the tracker itself charges you, and that is where anyone shopping for a ReSubs alternative ends up.
ReSubs is free to download and sells a Premium unlock. Its App Store listing shows in-app purchases from $1.99 (Premium Weekly) up to $49.99, with monthly and yearly tiers in between. Our tracker is free and uncapped, and Subby PRO is one payment with nothing to renew.

What ReSubs has going for it
ReSubs is ahead of us in two places.
- Reach. It ships on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision and Android, and its App Store listing shows English and 36 more languages. The platform list is the real difference. If you need it on a Mac or an iPad, that decides it.
- Updates. Version 1.38.2 shipped on September 29, 2026, so someone is working on it.
It also keeps its hands off your bank, which plenty of trackers want a look at. Our roundup of the best subscription tracker apps in 2026 groups it with the other manual trackers. Read Subby vs Rocket Money if you are weighing up a bank feed, or Subby vs Bobby if you have already narrowed it down to apps that charge once.
What Subby does differently
- The free version is the whole tracker. Add, edit, categorize, pause and archive as many subscriptions as you like, with no free-tier limit to hit. Insights comes with it, and ads pay for it.
- PRO is one payment. It removes ads and adds automatic cloud backup to your own Drive and iCloud on iPhone, daily, weekly or monthly with the last three kept, plus the home-screen widget, service icon requests, and AI screenshot import. You pick a screenshot of a receipt, bill or store page. An AI reads the name, price and cycle, and you confirm every value before Subby saves anything.
- You never create an account. No email and no password to reset.
- 600+ built-in service logos and 46 currencies. We refresh exchange rates from our server, so a multi-currency list still totals correctly.
- Billing cycles that match real invoices. Eight presets: weekly, biweekly, 4-weekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly, plus custom cadences like “every 45 days”.
- Reminders that don’t give up. Set a lead time per subscription, from same-day to a week ahead, or any custom value. When a due date passes unpaid, the reminder comes back for seven days instead of vanishing the moment you swipe it away.
PRO does not follow the list. Your list moves between iPhone and Android through your own Google Drive backup, and you restore on either phone from the same Drive account. The unlock stays with the store you bought it from, so a Google Play purchase doesn’t unlock PRO on the App Store, or the other way round.
Choose ReSubs if…
you want it on iPad, Mac or Vision as well as your phone, or you’d rather pay a small recurring amount than a single larger one.
Choose Subby if…
you want a subscription tracker you pay for once rather than one that bills you again next month, you don’t want an account, and you want the full list, reminders, insights and payment log without paying anything at all. If you’re on iPhone today, our iOS app is on the App Store as well and uses both screens of iPhone Duo, though ReSubs still reaches further, onto iPad, Mac and Vision.
Moving your list from ReSubs to Subby
- Open your current list and screenshot it. One screenshot per screen is fine.
- In Subby, add each service from the built-in presets, or hand those screenshots to AI screenshot import (PRO) and confirm what it reads back.
- Set the next payment date from the real one on your statement, not from today. Subby derives every future date from the previous due date, so getting the first one right fixes the whole series.
- Pick a reminder lead time per subscription. There is no account to keep alive and no bank connection to re-link.

A tracker shouldn’t become another subscription
Subby’s full tracker is free, needs no account, and PRO is one payment on whichever store you buy it from.
